CCPTA represents member units at various community and school district meetings such as:

  • Calendar Committee

  • Columbia Community Teachers Association

  • Columbia Parents for Public Schools

  • Columbia Public Schools Foundation

  • CSIP( School Improvement) Committee

  • Facilities Planning Committee

  • Wellness Committee

  • Long Range Planning Committee

  • School Board Meetings

A relevant resource for families and communities, and

A strong advocate for the education and well-being of every child

Our Mission

The mission of the Columbia Council PTA is to promote the welfare of children while supporting the work of Columbia Public School, Nation PTA, Missouri PTA and Columbia PTA units by:

  • Encouraging unit participation at state and national conventions, leadership conferences, regional conferences, and other opportunities presented by National PTA and Missouri PTA.

  • Providing services to Columbia PTA units and Columbia Public School such as: training/encouraging/supporting PTA leaders and prospective leaders; keeping units abreast of legislative issues; administering the Outstanding Volunteer Program; coordinating the local Reflections program; hosting opportunities for the sharing of ideas among units, school administrators, board members, and community leaders; and ensuring representation at various community and school district meetings.

  • Promoting National PTA and Missouri PTA programs and interests to Columbia units.
